Here we’ll answer a question you won’t find on any other tailors website: who are the best bespoke tailors? The answer might surprise you.
Each year at Lloyd Hall Bespoke. We meet with well over a hundred would-be grooms. And because so many folks know our thoughts and feelings on all things related to bespoke from this website. They often ask us, “who are some of the other bespoke tailors and competitors?” – Never want to shy away from being blatantly honest about the competition. I provide you with a list of some of the companies that have a solid reputation. Particularly with regard to wedding suits, which is a specialism in and of itself. Now, for obvious reasons, it would be cretinous of me to include our business in this list – Although I would very much like to, believe me. However, I asked myself the question. If I couldn’t make myself a suit, who would I choose to do it for me?
At first, from Saville Row, is Ozwald Boateng. Now generally speaking. I’d advise people looking for a wedding suit to stay off of Saville Row. But there are a few exceptions and one is Ozwald Boateng. His cut and form is absolutely excellent. He knows exactly how to cut a suit with the slim silhouette in mind. Next stop, again on Saville Row, is Maurice Sedwell. They’re fairly traditional but also use some interesting shapes and I like the fit. One more in London, both on Saville Row and in the city, is Cad & the Dandy: they are a fairly modern tailoring house with a twist. Moving into the rest of the country, Desmond Merrion from Leeds has been a tailor to other tailors for many years and really knows his trade. If money really was no object, his supreme couture bespoke option, starting at £50,000 would be a treat for anybody with that sort of cash. There are obviously many, many, many other bespoke tailors the country and indeed the world over that I could recommend. However, I’ve put this list together specifically with weddings in mind and who I would choose if you made me. Wink!
